Toronto officials are expecting an expanded report to come back to the public works committee by April to help determine whether the city should privatize waste collection east of Yonge Street.
The city first privatized garbage collection in the areas west of Yonge Street in 2011, contracting GREEN FOR LIFE Environmental. Since then, city staff has estimated the deal saved the city about $11-million per year.
